Apple’s latest version of iPad tablet computer is no doubt better than its predecessor in terms of everything. With a sleeker design, being thinner, and a higher speed in task performance, iPad 2 is also selling faster, the interminable queues outside the related stores across the world proving this point.

Rumors that shortages in the United States might be repeated worldwide have made Apple fans queue outside Apple stores in Asia and Europe, in hopes to be among the first to purchase one of the iPad 2 tablet computers.

The new series of MacBook Pro notebook computers is out. Apple Inc’s new devices feature new processors manufactured by Intel and also graphics chips made by Advanced Micro Devices. The launch helped AMD considerably, the company’s stocks jumping more than 5 percent after the event.

Apple Inc’s shareholders held their annual meeting on Wednesday, during which they approved a proposal giving them a bigger say in appointing directors, but rejected demands for the company to disclose a succession plan for its boss Steve Jobs, currently on medical leave.

Recent rumors claimed that the new iPad would be launched later than previously announced, with Taiwanese brokerage Yuanta Securities saying that it would be delayed because of bottlenecks faced by contract manufacturer Hon Hai, but sources close to Apple Inc dismissed these allegations, saying that the launch will take place as scheduled.

Google Inc is planning to focus more on its enterprise business, although 96 percent of the company’s revenue in 2010 came from advertising, with now more than 1,000 employees working in Dave Girouard’s department.

With the ongoing competition in the smartphones and tablet computers market, Google Inc launched on Wednesday a new service meant to help publishers sell digital versions of newspapers and magazines, keeping the pace with rival Apple Inc, which had launched a subscription platform for digital media sold through its iTunes app store only a day earlier.
